Around the Kitchen table is a project that was created for the Stockholm Craft Week of 2024. Margherita Pozzali, Laia Ribas Valls and I reflected upon the kitchen table as a prominent space in our homes. We saw an intimate space centered around close relationships and food. A space where stories are told, memories are shaped and knowledge is developed and challenged. These elements were the starting point for three individual takes on the kitchen table and the objects you can find around it.
For me the kitchen table became my atelier for a year. It provided me with materials, with tools, skills and machines. The challenge was to make objects that would be able to stand on their own, able hold a function, able decorate a home and bring some joy to people all while relying on and rethinking the kitchen’s content.
